I love this piece. I find it soothing and peaceful, a significant departure from much of my work. It suggests stillness and calm and tranquility. Thus the name.
Like much of my work, it is improvisationally pieced, this time with a mix of my own hand-dyed fabrics, as well as hand-dyed fabrics that I purchased, and a bit of commercial fabric. I quilted it by machine and included two pieces of dichroic glass to provide accents down the middle.
The two other images here show the quilt edges. and show what it might look like on the wall. I'm thinking of mounting it on matt board and framing it. Not sure yet.
